Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) is a form of immersive storytelling where players physically embody their characters in a shared, fictional world. Instead of sitting at a table, participants move through real-world environments, interacting, problem-solving, and navigating conflict as their in-game personas.
Each player has goals, motivations, and a place in the unfolding narrative. Actions and outcomes are shaped by a mix of game mechanics, collaboration, and live improvisation.
Behind the scenes, staff and storytellers build the world. They set the rules, guide the story, and bring characters and challenges to life. The result is something between a theater production, a game, and a living fantasy.

Darkwood Nights is a World of Darkness live action role-playing (LARP) game set in the 10th century Black Forest. The focus is deep immersion, character-driven storytelling, and a fully realized setting. Players take on the role of their characters and remain in character for the duration of the event. Everyone dresses the part, and the site is decorated to reflect a medieval village. When combined with active roleplay, the result is a living, breathing world rooted in the 900s.
But this is not ordinary medieval life. This is the World of Darkness.
Here, the monsters are real. Vampires move through the night. Spirits whisper in forgotten places. Fae twist truth and memory. Mages chase forbidden power. You can step into the skin of one of these supernatural beings (vampire, mage, or fae), or you can play a human trying to survive in a world that has no mercy.
Players can also take on Non-Player Character (NPC) roles to support the story and help bring the world to life. NPCs are directed by Storytellers and allow you to experience the setting from a different angle while helping to shape the game for others.
Combat at Darkwood Nights is handled with soft latex and foam weapons. While the weapons are safe, combat is fast, intense, and decisive. Players engage in real-time physical combat using both weapons and character abilities. Still, battle is not the only way to handle a problem. Trickery, negotiation, intimidation, and subtle influence can be just as effective, and far less dangerous.
Darkwood Nights offers something rare. For one weekend, you do not just play a character. You become them. You speak their words. You face their trials. You live their story.
