Darkwood Nights is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Scope
This policy applies to conduct at any Darkwood Nights event and in our official spaces (including Discord, the website, and official social pages). It may also apply to off-site conduct reasonably connected to this community when it materially impacts participant safety, event operations, or the ability of others to participate.
Harassment
Harassment of a participant may include, but is not limited to: verbal comments, written messages, displayed images, or gestures that denigrate individuals based upon gender, gender identity or expression, sexual identity, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or ethnicity, age, religion, political beliefs, choice of employment, philosophies, geographic origin, socioeconomic status, pregnancy, or any other legally protected status.
It may also include:
Physical or verbal intimidation or abuse
Stalking
Inappropriate physical contact or proximity
Nonconsensual sexual acts
Inappropriate sexual attention, whether verbal or physical, or unwelcome attention after being asked to stop
Any Darkwood Nights participant who is asked to stop harassing behavior is expected to comply immediately.
Decision standard and patterns
Reports are assessed using the same reasonableness and credibility standard described in the Code of Conduct. A documented pattern of minor incidents may be treated as harassment even if each incident alone would not appear severe.
Retaliation and interference
Retaliation is not tolerated. This includes targeting someone for reporting, punishing them socially, pressuring witnesses, harassment through proxies, or attempting to influence staff decisions.
Interfering with reporting or staff review is prohibited. While a conduct issue is under active review, Darkwood Nights spaces may not be used to pressure participants, campaign for an outcome, or conduct a public trial of the matter. Information or concerns related to the report should be directed to staff through the reporting process.
Off-Site conduct
Darkwood Nights is not interested in policing private lives. However, conduct outside of our official spaces may fall under this policy when it meets the scope above. Examples may include assault, harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, or other serious behavior directed at a participant when it is reasonably connected to or materially impacts the community.
Reporting
If you experience behavior that you feel violates this policy, reports may be submitted to report@darkwoodnights.org . Please refer to our Code of Conduct and Infraction Policy for more information.
