Anti-Harassment Policy
Darkwood Nights is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form at our events or official online venues.
Harassment of a participant may include, but is not limited to: Verbal comments, displayed images, or gestures that denigrate individuals based upon gender, gender identity / expression, sexual identity, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or ethnicity, age, religion, political beliefs, choice of employment, philosophies, geographic origin, socioeconomic status, in addition to any other legally protected status;
Physical or verbal intimidation or abuse;
Stalking;
Inappropriate physical contact or proximity;
Nonconsensual sexual acts;
Inappropriate sexual attention, whether verbal or physical, or unwelcome attention after being asked to stop;
Inappropriate physical attention related to, but not limited to: gender, gender identity/expression, sexual identity, physical ability or restrictions, physical appearance, body size, race or ethnicity, age, religion, geographic origin, socioeconomic status, or pregnancy.
Any member, staff or guest asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, Darkwood Nights may take any action as delineated in the infraction policy up to expulsion from the event with no refund.
We expect participants to follow these rules and will enforce them at all Darkwood Nights LARP events and on our official social media.
If you are the target of violence, discrimination or harassment by a member, staff or guest of an event please speak to the Program Manager, a Head of Staff as soon as possible. If the incident is of a criminal nature, ensure that you also report it to the police.
All complaints will be heard and investigated with as much sensitivity and care as possible. Darkwood Nights is intended to be a welcoming place for all so it is our hope that no one will ever feel as though they cannot speak to one of the representatives listed.
Conflict outside of Darkwood Nights
Our staff will take into consideration and listen to any concerns in regards to conflict from out of game interactions entering into game. However, Darkwood Nights is unable to police conflicts outside of our events or online venues.
If you are being harassed, discriminated against, or threatened on Facebook we suggest that you contact Facebook and report the misconduct.
What to do if you are being bullied, harassed or attacked on Facebook
If the offense is of a criminal or threatening nature contact the police.
Should the following occur outside of the purview of Darkwood Nights, the Program Manager reserves the right to take corrective action.
Assault
Harassment
Sexual misconduct
Theft
Destruction of property.
Corrective action may be dismissal from the game, suspension, or banning.
